My graduate project is divided into two series of work that explore algorithmic methods of approaching patternmaking and print design.

(fit) : Functions of Fit

The first series of work explores the automating of bespoke patterns by constructing algorithmic models of traditional blockmaking techniques. Programs were written in programming language Processing to take data from 3D body scans and output useable patterns for custom-fit dresses.

(form) : Functions of Form

The second series of work is a fashion collection that expands my development of algorithmic patternmaking techniques into digital print design. A flexible design schema of overlapping shapes was designed to allow for an infinite array of potential outcomes that maintain a sense of collectivity and design authorship. These principles are becoming increasingly significant in the context of mass customisation for fashion labels.
